Overall great experience at Nadege today. Their store is beautiful and same goes for their sweets. They have a broad range of items to choose from, all freshly made. I only wish they had more indoor seating.
The raspberry pistachio croissant I had was really good; flaky and not too sweet. There could have been more pistachio custard though as the edges are thicker on the dough and a bit dry. Had it been warmed prior to serving I think it would be better.
This brings me to my last point, the service. My friend and I ordered our items to dine-in but I just don't understand why we are being served when they put the items on plates as soon as we pick them. I feel like we could've just received our items at the time of payment instead of waiting the extra five minutes. Nothing is jazzed up about the presentation, nor were our croissants warmed, we even had to ask for cutlery after the items were served. The croissants had just sat on the plates the entire time on the serving shelf, yet I feel obligated to pay a tip because we are being "served". This is a more minor point though, the food was still excellent and is a great place to visit if you're in the Trinity-Bellwoods area.
