| - Thank goodness they have a lovely self-service coffee station because we had to be here at 6am for a 7:30am outpatient surgery.
Upon arriving we were helped immediately by the receptionist. She processed our health paperwork. She was courteous, professional, efficient, and knowledgable. Definitely the kind of person you want making the first impression at a place like this.
The checkin process took 10 minutes and then we waited... The waiting room was well lit, nicely decorated, very comfortable, spacious, and appointed in very soothing neutral colors. It was also very clean. By this pint in time, the place was batting a thousand. I just hoped the main reason we were there- my son's surgery- would go as well as our pre-surgery experience.
We were called by a nurse after about 30 minutes. The door through the waiting room opens to a huge medical area that looks like a hospital floor. I'm no doctor, but everything looked modern and very clean. We walked into my sons room and there was a little teddy bear waiting for him on the bed and a wagon right next to the bed.
We waking in this private area for about 30 minutes. The nurse took his vitals and she was incredibly gentle, nice, and patient. The anesthesiologist greeted us and then the doctor. Everyone was friendly and knowledgable. We were clearly in good care. The nurse that was to walk him to the OR had candy corn earrings and talked with him about Halloween. She let him pick how he wanted to go to the OR: the hospital bed, walking, or being pulled in the wagon. He opted to walk like a big boy.
After the surgery, the anesthesiologist and surgeon was there to let us know that everyone went great. The recovery nurses brought him apple juice and a popsicle. They also gave home two warm blankets and offered to let us keep one for the ride home!
From entry to exit this place was amazing. I hope no more surgeries are in our future, but if they are I plan to request this surgery center. What a great experience!
