The term buyer-beware certainly applies to this dealership.
I was in the market for a Jeep Wrangler and found one that I liked on this dealership's website. I made the 1 hour trek down to Tempe and after a test drive, negotiated with one of their sales reps.
I'm not an impulse buyer when it comes to big ticket items so I took the quote home that I was provided and that evening, I noticed some discrepancies in the written document.
Essentially, the price that was advertised on their website was no longer the quoted price, and the paperwork they gave me had a higher price annotated.
I went back down to the dealership first thing the next morning and was told that their internet sales team put the vehicle on their website at a certain price and after putting more money into the Jeep than anticipated, the price was now higher.
Keep in mind that when I went back to the dealership, I provided them a screen shot of their webpage which showed the Jeep at the lower price!
Suffice it to say that the sales rep summoned his manager and he wouldn't agree to honor the web price. So I politely told them that I wasn't going to buy the vehicle, and that they should be prepared for the onslaught of complaints that were headed their way.
I left the dealership and approximately 15 minutes later I received a call from a supervisor who said that they are a family owned business and blah, blah, blah. He then offered the original web price and I ended up purchasing the vehicle.
The sad part is that I had not be insistent on having them honor their own website quoted price, I would have ended up paying more for the vehicle than they advertised.
Places like this are the reason people hate dealing with car sales people.
Buyer beware. Never again. (And this is the 5th Jeep Wrangler that I've owned).
