Update: The owner of the salon called me and apologized profusely for the treatment I received at the salon and assured me that there would be a meeting with her staff to go over what happened to ensure situations like these are handled with more tact in the future. She also offered a free mani/pedi for my daughter as well as discounted services for myself. I updated my review accordingly as the gesture was sincere on her part and greatly appreciated on mine.
I just finished up a visit here with my 8yr old daughter. While we were there, a woman showed up with her "support dog". I asked one of the ladies there to seat us away from the dog because my daughter is extremely allergic to ALL dogs. I was told by the woman who brought in the dog that he was hypoallergenic. A common misunderstanding is that people with dog allergies are fine around hypoallergenic dogs. This is not the case for my daughter. Her allergy is so severe that she reacts to all dogs, and her reaction is a severe asthma attack and severe eye swelling.
The lady with the dog was moved to the opposite end of the salon and everything was fine. I said thank you and I did not mention another word about the issue.
When it was time to pay and leave, the extremely snotty girl at the cash and her equally snotty coworker basically had it out with me over the dog. I was told once again that the dog was hypo, to which I responded there is no such thing as a hypo dog to someone with a severe enough allergy. Then I was told that I was wrong?! As if I haven't spent the last 8yrs dealing with my daughters allergies and spending a half dozen days/nights in the ER because of situations like these. What medical degree does the girl at the cash have that she can tell me what my daughter is or is not allergic to?
I've been to Vixen numerous times on my own, with my daughter and with my mother. Never have I been so disrespected. Front cash girl needs some sensitivity training and maybe a course in dealing with the public. So does her high pony tail snotty coworker. I will never return. It's a shame because up until now, this was my go to salon.
