I donated to Safe Nest a few years ago. I THOUGHT the items I was donating were going to the women in-need AT the Safe Nest housing center. Instead, I came home to a notice from their affiliate (Savers?) for tax deductions, because the items were being brought there to be SOLD. I'm fine with donations being sold, however, IF I had known the items were not going to the women directly, then I would have made different choices in my donated items. For example, the brand new and still sealed box of pots & pans would have stayed with me; and I would have found a friend to give the business suits to wear instead of being sold by Safe Nest (at Savers second-hand store).
I will say that they DID pick up ALL my items left outside and marked for them on the day they were scheduled to arrive. Happy with that!
