| - I WISH I had done what I usually do and READ ALL THE REVIEWS on Yelp first. I am sure I will now receive a disgruntled commentary re: my review - as it seems from what I read after-the-fact that "the customer is always wrong". I toyed w/ logging in under a different persona, but let the chips fall where they may! Let me begin by saying that the prices/packages, most of the pre-contact, location, decor, and the treatments themselves were good and comparable to the services I received in the spa in my former locale. I booked a package (same day) and after a few odd phone messages from one booking clerk and return calls by another, and playing tag w/ an answering machine confirmed times, etc. Even though I arrived a couple minutes late (due to my own misreading of directions) I got the full amount of time for each and every one of the services (not rolled into one session, as some spas do) and felt pretty relaxed at the end. What would have made the visit 100% 5-star would have been a little less conversation/personal information during all the treatments (to include one therapists' comments/opinion about another!!, plans to leave the establishment, and life stories from all - I, like another reviewer, felt like I needed to reassure THEM that everything would be OK, and empathize w/ their lot in life); fewer mentions of the "upgrades" I was receiving because the website descriptions weren't current; and nixing the "commercials" for local establishments - to include flyers and menu recommendations - when I was leaving. I was cordial, because that is my nature, but it was awkward. I sadly realized there was probably a valid reason why I was able to book same-day in such a small establishment that was reputed by the owners, etc. to be the best staff w/ the most expertise. I do hope that some of the comments from me and others will be taken to heart; this could be a lovely retreat with just a few adjustments and a more professional demeanor all around.
