| - I have lived here for almost 3 years and counting. I have seen it change quite a bit in that time span. Like any apartment complex, it has had its ups and downs, but everyone's experiences will be a different mix of those.
Chazal is right on the park, which is awesome especially if you enjoy walking, biking, or skateboarding. It's close to Tempe Market Place and close enough to Fashion Square and Old Town without the extreme cost or noise.
What I like about Chazal is that they are trying to improve and with its latest ownership, they promoted one of the front office employees to an off site position I believe and the other was promoted to her position of office manager. This was a huge relief because I thought they might just decide to bring in entirely new people who didn't really know the residents or the area.
They used to charge you to pay rent online and now with the new management online payment is encouraged. This is much more convenient and I'm glad to see the improvement.
They also renovated almost all of their apartments. Although I still live in an unrenovated apartment, it is still quite nice and the new ones are very pretty.
Now, to the things that I hope to see improvement on in the future: The parking! Please somehow add more parking, if possible. It is tough to find a place to park after about 7:30 p.m. although you do get one covered space. The other thing is that some residents like to enjoy the pool on summer nights until early morning hours. This is understandable, but if this sort of thing bothers you, try to get an apartment not surrounding the pool.
tl;dr: It's beautiful, on the park, and a good spot to live at if you want to be able to go to tempe and scottsdale but don't want the noise and cost of downtown.
