This place is awesome. They are very knowledgable and kind. My brother in law is a vet out of state and every time I leave here I check with him to see if he agrees and he always does. That makes me trust this place. I took my dog here on a few separate occasions for emergency care. They always fixed him up great. Unfortunately the last time I took him here I was told he had terminal cancer and had a very short life expectancy. They offered to do surgery and chemo, but his life expectancy was at most 6 months even with treatment. After deciding to forgo heart surgery and treatment for my buddy, he lasted 6 weeks, thanks to the pericardial tap PVSEC performed on him. Otherwise he would have died that day. When the day came to put him down we knew, even though it cost us a little more, that we would take him back to PVSEC for euthanasia. The staff was very sympathetic to our situation. Some of them were even crying with us. It was a horrible experience, but not because of anything they did. Even after he was gone, they handled him with care. A few days later we received a nice sympathy card and now 3 weeks later I got a surprise in the mail. They made a nice imprint of his paw with his name on it and sent it to me. I thought that was a very nice gesture and I will continue to use PVSEC for my emergency veterinary needs.
