| - Like any other establishment in the world, this place has its upsides and downsides. For me, the upsides outweigh the downsides. Want to know why? Read the review!
On one hand, this place consistently makes great drinks. Many of the other Starbucks--especially the one at Cedar\Warrensville Center--are wildly inconsistent. Additionally, on the rare occasions when the drinks haven't been great here, the staff has been extremely willing to do what was necessary to fix the problem. Speaking of the staff, if you go there often enough, they will treat you as if they know you well...which is a nice touch. When I lived down the street from this location, the manager knew me by name and addressed me as such every time I spoke with him. Furthermore, this place isn't noisy, and the clientle is generally quiet. Sure, another reviewer said that people aren't friendly...but honestly, when most people I know go to a coffee shop alone, they don't want to be bothered. Is that so wrong? I never knew that wanting to keep to oneself in order to get some good studying done was a crime. I'd MUCH rather go to a coffee shop where people were a bit antisocial and quiet than a coffeeshop (like Phoenix on Lee Road) that features concert-level noise at times, especially when younger kids storm the place after school. Plus, I was also impressed by the fact that they expanded their hours once they realized that there was a high demand for later hours on Sundays.
On the other hand...getting into Studio 54 might have been easier than finding a seat at this place. I have never been here when the doors open, but honestly, I think that there might be a queue of students here on some mornings waiting to snatch up a prime study spot. I have made multiple trips to this place on the same day--what can I say, I've been drinking coffee regularly since grade school!--and I have seen the same exact person sitting in the same exact spot. Additionally, they don't have free WiFi, which really sucks. Sometimes, I will drive the extra 15 minutes down Cedar to Caribou or Phoenix if I need to use the Internet. I think perhaps they are changing it so that ATT customers can get free WiFi in the future, but until that happens, one has to pray for a free, open wireless signal if they don't want to shell out a king's ransom for wireless. Also, due to the heavy traffic at this place, they use those automated espresso machines (but I have heard rumors that Starbucks is getting rid of those...) and the shots from them tend not to be as strong.
All in all, this place isn't bad...just don't get your hopes up for always being able to find a seat, especially during finals!
