| - So I have been using Tower Cleaners for the past few years (a few different locations) however this one is a few minutes from my house so had been using it for the convenience. Tower Cleaners is pretty much the only reason I buy the yearly SUTP books as they have 25% off coupons on 8 or more items. Great deal and typically pays for the whole book in 1 use.
The issues I have had were with a specific employee and have had problems on more than one occasion so wasn't just a bad day for the employee which I can sometimes accept. On a few occasions I have gone to pick up the dry cleaning and seem like I am hassling the employee by giving her the coupon.
"You should have given the coupon when you dropped off your items" she says
"Oh, I'm sorry you have to type in the coupon amount while ringing my stuff through, what an inconvenience" I think
Note that I have had zero issues at any other location using the coupon when picking up my order and nowhere on the coupon does it say it should be dropped off with the clothes.
The last time I went to this location, the same grumpy employee starting complaining about the coupon again then proceeded to help another customer as validating the coupon was taking her too long. She then proceeded to take about 5-10 minutes with the other customer (while I waited) and seemed to have issues with her too (couldn't find all the clothes then couldn't get the Debit machine to work). The customer ended up leaving as the machines stopped working. She proceeded to help the next person in line while I still waited. At this point, my blood started to boil. I was being patient, but having to wait because it takes you too much time to figure out how to enter a coupon in the "new" computer system in unacceptable. I finally ended up saying I will just come back tomorrow as it seemed like their system had crashed and I wouldn't have been able to use my credit card.
I went back the next day only to find the same employee, yaaaay. She was upset again and made a comment about me not dropping the coupon off with my clothes. OKAY OKAY I GET IT, YOU SUCK AT ENTERING COUPONS. Once she finally figured it out and I paid, I stood there waiting for my clothes. After what seemed like a record setting staring contest between two 10 year olds I said "Ummmmm, can I have my drycleaning please???"
Oh, great, she didn't grab my clothes off the rack and now that the order was processed in the system she had no idea how to find my items. After trying to figure it out she ended up calling her supervisor at home and needed to be walked through the system. After a lengthy conversation with the supervisor, we ended up scrolling through all the rack of clothes until I found everything and pointed them out. Good times.
I called the owner and mentioned my concerns. I was fortunate enough to get a $10 credit with a recommendation that I avoid the days this employee works. GREAT IDEA although wouldn't it be better if you trained your staff to know what they are doing and to have them not complain every 2 seconds? Given that I don't know when this employee works, I am making the assumption that it is everyday and have not been back. I have started using one downtown on the way to work. Thanks for the convenient location :-)
