UPDATE #3: After getting the fuel injection line replaced, the engine and transmission repaired our GMC Envoy runs great and appreciate the help and patience Ted Wiens Firestone has done for us including paying for a tow from my husband's work to their shop. My vehicle was repaired in a timely manner, and they also provide warranty on the transmission for up to three years/100k miles. Thank you for negotiating a price to repair our truck as it was a lot cheaper than buying a new one.
UPDATE #2: The manager called my husband and negotiated a price in repairing our transmission after already spending $2200 with the company. We're off to a good start in getting our vehicle back to normal, and I appreciate their efforts in making things right. The vehicle died today and they also towed it for free to their shop so it can be repaired. I will be updating my review to five stars if everything works out with our GMC.
I am absolutely disgusted with this location. PLEASE DO YOUR RESEARCH before bringing your vehicles to this location as well as other Firestones. About a month ago, I took my GMC Envoy to get a full diagnostic to fix the issues with my car stalling at red lights and what not. I was told it was the fuel injection line - fair. We paid almost $400 to get it repaired. About a week later, it starts doing it again and my engine starts shaking uncontrollably. So my husband and I decided to take it to this location to have a second opinion because why not? We get told it's the mounts and arms that need to be replaced $1800 later..... they supposedly did a full diagnostic on the vehicle and apparently it was running great.
Not only two days later, our GMC starts slipping and cant drive more than 45 miles and its missing third gear. We call firestone and speak with Cory who worked on our car and told him the issues we were experiencing - his words were damn, I knew I should have checked the transmission. He told us to bring it back so he can check the transmission fluid. After a day of it being in the shop we were told they need to rebuild the transmission and that would be $3500.
IM SORRY BUT HOW DO YOU MISS THAT WHEN PERFORMING A DIAGNOSTIC?!?!
The vehicle was NOT doing that before we brought it in and the moment we get it back it starts having tranny issues??? This is not adding up, either they messed up the transmission and want us to fork out another $3500 or they knew all along our transmission was going out and didn't want to tell us until AFTER we paid $1800 to get the mounts and arms replaced.
