| - I hadn't planned on visiting, but I was in the area to have lunch with friends and one of them suggested checking it out when I mentioned I was looking for outfits for my groomsmen.
There were a ton of staff just inside the entrance, but they seemed friendly enough, and directed me upstairs when I told them what I was looking for. A guy named Sasha ended up talking to me, and it was one of the most bizarre, one-sided conversations I've ever had.
I explained what I was looking for (dress shirt & pants, tie) and my ideal budget ($100). He told me that I would need to spend at least twice that, and that I wouldn't find anything to fit my budget anywhere else. I initially appreciated his honesty, but he then proceeded to ramble on about his sales philosophy and expertise and a bunch of other stuff that seemed like he was trying to impress me and establish some kind of bro-rapport. As he continued to speak, I continued to lose interest, and it became clear that I would have to find my own way out of the "conversation".
Later in the day, I found myself in the Bay, where they're having a great sale that will allow me to find what I'm looking for at a reasonable price. Sometimes when I'm in the bigger department stores, I can find it a little difficult finding a staff member to answer my questions, but I find that experience to be vastly preferable to having someone smother you with their smooth-talking.
