Dinner this past Friday was supposed to be exciting as another trip to the usually solid Union Station. The menu is the same as always with the known good things usually ordered again.
This visit was off for a few reasons: server seemed distant and awkward in interacting and chatting, wings were overly gooped with sauce and accompanying veggies warm, limp and brown.
Comment was made to server about the veggies on an FYI basis as she initiated asking "how is everything". Manager showed up at the table and told us he took 15% off the wings - we went on to explain this intention on making the comment was FYI - NOT a discount. His glassed over eyes stared at us while we spoke and he walked away. Strange interchange.
The venue seemed pretty thin for a Friday night with warmth and sunshine all around. remember, Fergus & Bix and Original Joe's are in the 'hood - more choices.
Union Station - pull up your socks and just listen to the people - discounting because of honest feedback is insulting and devalues your brand and image.
