  • Having been acclimated at an early age to great mystery authors such as John Le Carre and Agatha Christie, I've always had a penchant for mystery novels. Nonetheless, most of the books that I read now are either Autobiographies, Business and Management Guides; as well as, Technical and Scientific manuals. Great for learning, but not exactly an entertaining read. My wife has taken it upon herself to be a budding author. And since I try to support her in all her endeavors, I decided to take her to this hidden treasure of a bookstore within Old Town Scottsdale. She had never been in this store, and as she walked in, she marveled at the store's inventory and it's decor. Walking in through the front doors for the first time, she instantly made note of the photographs of the authors that have graced its premises. And the layout is just so well executed. They may not have the largest inventory in town, but if you are a fiction fan, you will find something to your liking. I personally like historical pieces, and they had a section well suited to my preference. The staff was just extremely helpful and congenial. They were never condescending; especially for us neophytes. And they were so proud of their freshly baked cookies, that they kept offering them to the guests. I may not have a lot of time to read books for the fun of it any longer. However, I might just start up again just based on my experience from this wonderful establishment. We will most certainly be back!
