I love stopping by this place for some quick exercise in the morning! I love how it doesn't cost anything to park here and is quite a large area to hike in. There are multiple trails depending on if you want a harder hike or an easier hike. If I'm feeling brave I'll do the one that involves many large stones to step up as you make your way to the top of the mountain. If I'm more slower paced then I will choose the flatter trails. If it's a hotter day then get there earlier so you don't cook yourself! If it's cooler then you're fine going any time of day but don't forget your sunscreen!
The view at the top of the mountain is gorgeous and there are a few benches that you can sit on if you need to catch your breath (and also an American flag!). I see some school groups sometimes taking young kids up the mountain but don't be discouraged, it's a killer leg workout if you keep a decent speed (you will feel the burn). The trails are all very clean but do have a lot of rocks so just be aware and wear proper shoes!
