| - I had an appointment for my Chrysler to have the oil changed, tires rotated, and the cruise control checked as it would no longer turn on every time. When it would turn on, it would set and work correctly. I provided the full synthetic oil for the oil change and informed the service rep that it was behind the drivers seat. 2 and a half hours later I was informed that the
work had been completed and the car was ready. I reviewed the estimate for the cruise control repair, estimated to be over $1,000, and the laundry list of other repairs that they recommended totaling over $5,400. I declined the cruise control repair at that time, paid my bill and went to the car. I found my 10 quarts of full synthetic oil still behind the drivers seat, unopened. I went back in and talked briefly with the service rep. I asked why they didn't use the oil I supplied. "Oh, I forgot ...". I asked if the oil that they put in was synthetic oil. He said it was, but if I wanted he would put it back in and use my oil. By then, I was fuming!! And had ran out of time to have it do done over! Turns out the oil was NOT a full synthetic, but a blend. I feel like I was lied to as well with this partial truth. BTW! The service rep put on the work order that the cruise control would not set, which is not what I told him. The problem that I told him was that it would not always turn on. I'll be looking for a good mechanic now, instead of going to these dealerships for service of my vehicles!! I don't like feeling raped for inadequate service!! By the way, the mechanic that did the work, did fine.
