| - Another mediocre experience at an Extended Stay. I was at this location for a little over a month, and of course it happened to be during a remodeling phase. The first three weeks in an "old" room were lackluster...the carpet and tile was gross and very dated, I made a conscious effort to avoid being barefoot in this room. Apparently that wasn't enough precaution, because thanks to the dirty tub, I ended up getting a wart on my foot after a few weeks. Thanks, Extended Stay! Due to the construction, I would be awakened to the sound of someone banging on the floor above mine at least 5-6 days a week, for hours at a time. The front desk staff was not even remotely friendly, honestly most of them bordered on stand-offish and rude, although they did provide extra toilet paper and extra room keys when asked. To be fair, it seems that 90% of my experiences in the Cleveland area include absolutely poor customer service, there's this general bad attitude amongst most customer-facing employees (bars, restaurants, stores), so I think it's just the mentality of the general local population. After being switched to one of the recently remodeled rooms, I found it much more aesthetically pleasing, and generally more clean overall. Still had to deal with construction noise, which made mornings pretty unpleasant. No pool, no fitness center, this is definitely a no-frills budget option. Other complaints were that the internet went out several times (sometimes for over 4 hours), when I paid to upgrade my internet it only applied to ONE device ("Innflux" is a joke), and a lot of bad smells in the hallways, and quite possibly the slowest elevators I've ever experienced. The second star is only because the renovated room WAS much better, and it's also in convenient proximity to shopping and dining.
