| - Aww, NBC. I hate to do this to you. In 2004, my future husband and I shacked up across the way from this cute little cake shop tucked away next to a pizza stop and a gas station on the corner of Durango and Sahara. Due to the fact it was so close to our apartment, I ventured in here one April day, seeking a cake for my honey's birthday. I was trying to impress him, and in the days before social media shaming and yelp reviews, I ventured in on a prayer, hoping for the best. I wasn't disappointed. (And neither was he.)That was 12 years ago. Fast forward to us, married and 4 kids later, and not only has our family expanded, but Nothing Bundt Cakes has turned into a franchise, from a one store local business to nationwide chain. Through the years as their company has grown, and we've added to our family, we always turn to NBC for our birthday cakes or for special occasions. We have even bought cakes for visiting family from out of town. They've all fallen in love. I've notice though, over the last year, that customer service seems to be slipping, but I kept thinking it was an off day. Today that all changed, when I decided to order a birthday cake for my son over the phone. Their classic cakes are already made, and they need notice to frost the cake to order. As I was driving, I called on my hands free phone to place the order so it would be ready when I arrived. The girl on the line asked for my credit card. I was unable to reach as I was running errands and driving, and digging in a purse driving on the 215 is a death wish. I asked if, as a customer of 12 years, with my information in their system, if I could pay on arrival, as I was less than 20 minutes away. This has been permitted before. The young lady placed me on hold and apparently asked her manager. Manager said no, I could come in and it would be a 20-30 minute wait. The past few times I've ordered and paid ahead, I had to wait anyway. Today I was in an especially big hurry, and was trying to minimize the wait. I told the young lady it was unfortunate, and found it ludicrous that an exception couldn't be made. In that one minute, they lost a loyal customer of over a decade. Unfortunately, they will not be getting my business again. I turned my swagger wagon around and got 2 Trader Joe's mini sheet cakes for $8. My 9 year old is happy. And that's all that matters
