  • A quick overview: It's located on a corner within a building that houses offices and a restaurant. Parking can be street or lot in the "front" of the building which is behind the street side. Walking into The Spa they created a place that helped separate itself from the rest of building. I was warmly welcomed by the front desk person and filled out the intake form in a quiet, comfortable relaxation room. I was then greeted by Kim and taken to what looked like one of the many service rooms. The room was comfortable in light, temperature, space, and atmosphere (according to the service I had). I went in for waxing and, in short, have to say that Kim provided professional service with an eye for comfort, thoroughness and responsiveness. She used a wax combo that seemed, to me, the best for removing hair without skin issues or left over hair. Her experience ensured little cleanup (tweezer) effort. Let her, or if another person is doing the work, if you have concerns, questions, or requests for your comfort. Post service, I had no skin or hair issues. While I didn't experience any negatives, there were a couple of "wishes": less mess (but waxing is a messy business), maybe some ambient music, and the wax at a temp that was set when I arrived (but maybe the wax temp is what worked so well?). Why 5 stars than 4? Because overall I was happy with the results and experience versus expectations from other places, and I cannot reasonably expect they'd know my 20/20 hindsight! Also, I thought the price was just right. I've been to a couple different places (Milwaukee and Madison) and The Spa struck the balance with wax type, comfort, ability, and thoroughness. Generally, those who get waxed know it's not pain free but becomes a lot more tolerable over time. In my experiences elsewhere, if waxing is too comfortable, then it's not as thorough; if too hard or painful then there could be skin removed with the hair. Kim was able to make it the best waxing experience I've had and I will be back to get waxing done and will look at scheduling other services as well.
