What a nice way to start the weekend on a January morning. Really nice to shop local. Red Cabbage & Squash. Shallots, Northern Spy, and Spinach Pie.
The market moves to Old Trail School in the winter. The upstairs area had some art/craft vendors as well as some nice choices for a sit-down breakfast. Had I known about that, I wouldn't have eaten before I came! The downstairs area featured lots of root crops and cruciferous vegetables, as well as honey, maple syrup, apples, cheeses, frozen meats, and baked goods. I'm still wishing I'd bought those parsnips. They are always sweeter after the first winter frost. We were happy to discover some delicious gluten free breads from Ovenly Delights.
We finished off the warm January morning with a good squishy hike on the Towpath Trail.
