| - Well, I turned 60 yesterday and my wife and I wanted to go somewhere for a nice relaxing, memorable dinner. Looked for a steak house and thought why not, let's give Golden Steer a try, lots of history and old...like me. I'm actually older by a couple years
Inside was old fashion décor of years past, very inviting and a nice ambiance. Waiters and servers were very friendly.
Ordered the combo New York and Lobster dinner. The lobster was fantastic, the steak was just a bit overcooked from what I ordered, wanted medium rare, got medium. My waiter was more than happy to get me a new one but, I struggle with throwing a good piece of meat away. It was only a little overcooked and I thanked him for the offer.
One of the most incredible taste is the table side made Caesar salad. They make the dressing right in front of you, super fresh and OMG flavor. Best ever. The French onion soup is very good as well.
So when I start eating my dinner, things take a turn. They make an incredible Bananas Foster table side. And a few tables away was one being made. To start with they light a firework sparkler thing, like a fountain. Really nice for show but, it filled the entire room with a horrible sulfur smelling smoke. I mean it lingered for 10 minutes plus. Completely ruined my experience eating my meal. My nostrils and my taste buds where ruined for the night. From what I hear, on a busy night there could be 40 of these things going off during your meal. So sorry to give a not too impressive review but for the money, you didn't match my expectations.
