Went for some repairs on a second hand boy's bike and was immediately assisted by two friendly staff members. They were willing to make the repairs to the bike, but were honest about the condition of it and the cost. After weighing my options, I decided it wasn't worth it to dump money into a bike that my kid will likely grow out of very soon (side note: 12 year olds should NOT have nice things - they grow WAY TOO FAST!). Here's the fun part - they partner with a local organization that collects unwanted bikes for disadvantaged children, but for the child to get the bike the kids have to learn how to make the repairs themselves in order to earn the free bike. I'm all in! I have another bike at home that I'll also be donating (tax deductible) when I come back to shop for an upgraded boy's bike.
