| - I had driven by Cabarrus Brewing a few times for work, but never got the chance to visit. On a family outing, we decided to visit some breweries, and the third stop on our tour brought us to Cabarrus Brewing. After driving down the long road to the parking lot, I was disappointed to learn that the brewery was not the Mill as pictured, but a building behind the mill....We quickly got over that fact when we entered. The brewery is LARGE!!!! As is the tap room, upstairs event room, and patio area. I thought the interior was great, a mix of modern and traditional tap rooms, and the patio/deck area provided a great place to enjoy the warm weather. The bartender was friendly, attentive, and helpful. She helped narrow down my samples and got us our flights poured without much of a wait. The atmosphere is good, very friendly people and staff.
The beer was the downside - we just didn't like it that much. I rated everything on my flight a 3/5. It was OK. The location is a bummer, it's far away from the highway, and just one lane roads leading there.
Overall it's a nice place with a great group of people working, but that doesn't always equate to good beer. If I was up there again, I would stop back to sample some other beers since you never know if you'll find a good one!
