| - I'm giving two stars because the office looks nice and my first couple of visits did go well. I am a relatively new patient to this office (just under a year). I had been to the office a couple of times for an annual visit and follow up. My first couple of visits went rather smoothly and were overall good experiences. Recently, I went for a somewhat urgent matter. My last visit did not go quite the same as the first and I can identify with a lot of the negative reviews on here because of that. I called to see if I could get a same day appointment instead of going to an urgent care. I was placed on a waiting list for the day and received a call a couple of hours later and they were able to get me in. Great! I would rather go to my Primary Care if I am able to over urgent care so I was pleased. I was promptly seen and back in the exam room with a NP who was great. She gave an initial diagnosis and treatment plan pending the results of lab tests. No surprise there. My RX was sent to the pharmacy and I was on my merry way.
Fast forward two days and Walgreens called to say my RX was ready. I was surprised because I picked up my RX two days earlier. I find out it was for another medication from the same NP I saw two days ago. No one from the doctor's office called me to let me know about lab results or if treatment was being changed or added to or what was going on. It was 5:30pm and the office was closed so I had to leave a voicemail stating basically that I didn't know what I was supposed to do now. I now have two different prescriptions and don't know if I am discontinueing one or taking both. Since I didn't know the diagnosis the pharmacist was of little help, through no fault of his own. I was a little unsettled because I have worked in the healthcare field for 10 years and this is definitely not acceptable patient care. I entrusted this office to manage my healthcare and they dropped the ball here. The next morning I barely missed the call from the doctor's office but immediately called back. I informed the girl who answered the phone what had happened, inclusing my concerns about not being contacted when a new RX was sent to the pharmacy, and, in an extremely snarky attititude, informed me that I was being called that morning so they could tell me about my lab results and I wasn't called the day before because it was the end of the day. When actually, no, they were calling me back because I had called them first the evening before after their failure to communicate patient instructions to me.
Apparently, if it is the end of the business day, only doing half of a task is acceptable if the healthcare worker wants to leave. Who cares about the patient as long as your on time for happy hour, right? After this experience, I cannot say I believe that this office puts healthcare first. I will definitely be looking for a different Primary Care office that makes healthcare their number 1 priority.
