| - I ordered the yin/yang broth and while the hot side was hot, both broths lacked flavor. I had to get salt from the waitress and I added a lot (my regret is that I didn't get the salt sooner). I think it needs onion or other similar veggies to add dimension (I don't recall seeing onion on the menu). I would probably try a different broth next time (curry, lemon grass or coconut chile -- too bad you can't get half and half on those). Anyway, the veggies were super fresh. We ordered 2 types of mushrooms as well as boc choi and taro (taro is like a potato... I would skip it). We ordered 2 types of beef, 1 lamb and pork dumplings... the dumplings were good as they had flavor. The fried tofu we ordered was a bit chewy and also lacked flavor (as tofu often does), but I've had good fried tofo before. I wish there were more types of veggies. The veggie menu is about half mushrooms (about 10 varieties), boc choi, spinich, taro, korean pumpkin, baby corn cobs and a few others. I'd probably get a few mushroom types, bac choi and spinach next time (and see if they have some type of onion).
This place is definitely not cheap (we spent over $50 for 2 people), but the ingredients are high quality. The place is kinda cool and service was excellent.
I would probably go back and try to build a better soup, but it's not high on my list.
