| - I called the Doggie District - thinking I was reaching the N. Rainbow location - and actually ended up being at the "Centennial" location! Now this review is strictly based on the awesome customer service I received as a potential new client.
As I mentioned previously, I called first to get the lay of the land so to speak. Now this location just opened on Friday - but are already having quite the business! The lady I was speaking with was extremely friendly, and was really helpful over the phone, so I decided to make a visit. With daughter in tow, we were given a tour of the facility, and how they ran their operations was explained in full detail.
Play areas seem kind of small for the indoors, but long enough to give the pooches sufficient exercise. Besides with jumping on each other and chasing after one another I am sure they get plenty of exercise. The outside play area is plenty large for a small group of dogs to get along just fine. They have a small toddler play gym, and a kiddie pool filled with water for the pooches to enjoy. In addition it was explained they use hoses for entertainment. Meaning they will spray the water in a direction and the pooches will go crazy after the water. Right up my dogs alley! Now the outside yard is artificial turf, so I did ask about the potential harm to the paws - (when we did our landscaping it was mentioned that the artificial turf would get soo hot in direct sun it would burn paws and feet alike). The gal's response was yes - it can get hot, but with a lot of the water games, and hosing down from outside potty usage, the turf tends to stay cool. In addition the yard is protected from direct sun in the hot afternoons by the building, and they are planning to install shade coverings to help keep the pooches happy. They do have another play area - which will also be treated with shade coverings and be split up to allow small and medium ones to have their own space.
Services provided:
Grooming; boarding; day care. I asked them if dog walking was a feature that could be included in conjunction with the boarding - and they stated no. I was informed however, that they do provide dog walking service from your own home. And I think they even can do overnight stays for homeowners? Not sure on that one - so don't quote me on it!
They are in a price adjustment phase at this time so you do need to find out over the phone what they are doing. But the basic boarding fee is something like $21 a night which includes meals, play time, and snack time.
Will try them out sometime in the future.
