I feel incredibly lucky to have Evergreen in my neighbourhood. Hands-down one of the best natural food stores in the city. The store isn't very big and the aisles can be cramped, It's definitely one of the cheapest (Tutti Frutti in Kensington is marginally cheaper, but has half the selection.)
The other thing that draws people back to this store? The co-owner Harry. The man knows EVERYTHING when it comes to holistic health and remedies. He will always recommend the best remedies for whatever you need.
The man also has a mind like a steel trap, remembering customer's names and previous purchases and conversations you've had with him.
My only minor issue: the stock can be inconsistent sometimes. Items can disappear from shelves for months before showing up again. I don't know if it's because they're a small store and get shafted by suppliers more easily. But I've made special order requests to Harry in the past, and he usually comes through.
