  • Got my eyes zapped here a month ago, was pretty easy and straight forward. First appointment you go for a free exam to make sure you're eligible for LASIK (which they prefer to do) or PRK, and then if you want you can book a date right after. There's a bunch of surgeons on staff, but I chose Dr. Chan. Surgery was a piece of cake and she was very knowledgable with my questions. They'll walk you through it but basically it's about 20 minutes and there's 2 machines: first one uses lasers to cut the flap, and the other uses lasers to correct your vision. Expect a burning hair/bbq smell as your eyes get zapped. Parking is $7 each visit. My prescription before was -8.00 in both eyes with a slight astigmatism in my left eye (aka i was pretty much blind without my glasses). Day after surgery i was 20/20 in my left and 20/30 in my right (20/20 is perfect/normal fyi). Now (three weeks later) I'm 20/10 in my left eye and 20/20 in my right, so I'm satisfied. Healing isn't as quick as they make it out to be, it took me about a week before I was comfortable at work again (I use a computer all day though). I got it done on a Friday afternoon, spent the rest of the day sleeping. The day after i just spent cat-napping as you're not supposed to read, use screens, or generally do anything that could stress your eyes. I couldn't read or focus on close things (objects within 3 feet) for the first few days (would see a slight double-vision on my phone for example), but that slowly faded over the course of the first week. Was 5 days before i could read newspaper sized font without straining my eyes. After a week it was back to business as usual albiet just taking it easy. Expect lots of eye drops: first few days it's pretty much every 2 hours, first week is every 4 hours, and after that it's about 4-6 times a day for a couple months (depending how long the dry-eyes last for as YMMV). Overall I had a great experience and would recommend this place, but you have to do your own research to weigh the risks and decide whether it's for you. Their opinion will obviously be biased because they want to make the sale. Any and all surgeries come with risks; there's a reason the consent form is 4 pages long and basically says if anything goes wrong it's not our fault.
