While this park is not as visually stunning as some other nearby parks, this is still a very nice area that is worth a visit.
Keep in mind that this park is huge, and even the scenic drive encompasses a large swath of land. You couldn't see it all in one go even if you wanted to. I tried to hike on a shorter trail (Lost Creek) but quickly found that it was going to be a lot longer, and harder, than the map would have one believe. One very interesting thing is that the landscape here changed to drastically. You can find red sandstone at the beginning of the drive but some atypical greenery near Ice Box Canyon. It's great for seeing the wide variety of desert and mountain landscapes.
I suggest coming here mostly for the scenic drive. There are far too many trails to hike, and you could spend many weeks trying to traverse them all. The drive is leisurely, so you will have plenty of time to take in the sights.
