For garlic lovers, you better come to this festival!
Not enough people know about the Shaker Garlic Festival and omg, by luck i found out about this festival last year and decided to go last minute. AMAZING. Second best festival after the Little Italy Feast of Assumption.
First the downside and 'warnings' before you go:
1. there's a fee. yeah, WHAT FESTIVALS NOWADAYS HAS AN ENTRANCE FEE? but sadly, the garlic festival does. so you better love garlic
2. be adventurous. just.. try all the samples, you'd be surprised how garlic can make everything taste good. go to the 'garlic contest' stations and watch chefs make cupcakes and desserts with garlic.
Now, the positives and YAYs for going:
1. i bought this garlic jam that was sooo delicious. i put it on everything: bagels, bread, crackers, etc...
2. parking ain't bad at all.. surprisingly. maybe the attendance fees stop many from going so parking isn't bad at all.
3. free garlic food samples.
4. GARLIC EVERYWHERE! HOORAY TO GARLIC.
