  • Rainy day...a little chilly....so what to have lunch? Pho of course! Rather than head to one of our usual spots, we decided to try a new place that I read about that came recommended by a local concierge. I checked the reviews on Yelp and they were mostly positive, so away we went! We went on a Saturday afternoon around 1pm. I had read that finding parking was a nightmare, but the day we went, we found plenty of available parking. Upon entering the restaurant, we could see that they were adequately busy. However, we were seated right away and handed menus. Serving staff was on it. Within minutes we had our drinks and our order taken. We opted for the Kim Long fried egg rolls (chicken) and chicken wings with Kim Long Sauce for starters. My hubby ordered the #13 (Special Combination Tender Beef Noodle Soup) and I ordered the #14 (Rare Steak Noodle Soup). Again, within minutes, our egg rolls arrived. Delish! Crispy, hot and served with lettuce, mint and shredded carrot mixture. Wrapped our egg rolls in the lettuce, added mint and carrot garnish and dipped in the accompanying sauce...awesomeness! Next came the chicken wings. These babies were tiny!!! I guess because they were so small, we received about 15 of them on the plate. Even though they were tiny, the skin was nice and crispy and the flavor was great! I thought they would be spicy according to the chili pepper listed next to it on the menu, but these were more sweet than spicy. Though they tasted great, if I come back, I don't know that I would order them again. I didn't really feel like I got a lot of meat out of them for the price. While we were grubbing on our appetizers, our pho came as well. I ordered a large and it did not disappoint. I really enjoyed the flavor of the broth. Wasn't salty and had a nice aroma too. There was just enough noodles and enough beef to satisfy me. I added plum sauce, 2 limes, sriracha sauce, bean sprouts and cilantro to mine. Hubby really liked his pho too. All in all, we will definitely come back. The pho was great, serving staff was friendly and very attentive. It is just a great place to kick back and enjoy some tasty food...especially on a chilly, rainy day!
