| - Flying on WestJet is reasonably good, but partly because Air Canada (the only real competition these days) is so bad. It all depends if you prefer the self-aggrandizing pseudo-folksy-ness of the former to the bloated, indifferent coldness of the latter. WestJet, at least in my experience, seems to be better at sticking to their schedules than other airlines, which is always a plus--especially when you're facing multiple lay-overs.
Two things have bugged me about them recently, however: first, the way they crow about not charging us for snacks. Yeah, thanks for not charging me for 50 grams of pretzel bits on my four-hour flight to Vancouver. Of course, the crappy sandwiches for sale were just as overpriced and undergood as anywhere else these days. Second, they've just dropped out of the Air Miles program, which used to be a big incentive for me to go with them over other carriers.
