  • I started going to PP when I realized that my personal weight loss journey regime was going to take me a lifetime of doing, before I would reach my goal. I just didn't have all the knowledge that I needed to lose the weight. On my first visit they took my weight, height and measurements and also did an EKG. I had to return every two weeks to check measurements and weight and get a short counseling session on what I had been eating and the amount of exercise I had been committing to. They were always encouraging whether there was a loss or not. They have high tech equipment that tells them what kind of fat is being shed and it can even let them know if you have been drinking enough water, which I thought was hilarious being that it took me a short while to totally give up my juices. I lost a total of 37 pounds in about 4.5 months, which I was very happy with. I was looking and feeling great. I had mastered how much to eat and when in the day to eat it. I was on top of getting in my daily cardio and life was going good. When I met my boyfriend, we started eating out all of the time and eventually I stopped going in for my visits. Subsequently, a year later I have put back on the bulk of my weight and I'm going back to PP with my tail tucked in between my legs to get help with getting myself back on track. If I am lucky, I might be able to convince my boyfriend to come along with me. If you have PEBP Insurance like I do, your visits are free. You only pay for B12 shots and any prescriptions. Just don't miss your appointment. You have to give a one day notice or else you will be charged for the visit. They also have an assortment of protein bars, beef jerky and protein powders to help aid you in your weight loss. I am not very much into eating tons of meat and I was put on a high protein, low carb eating plan. The Zero Carb Isopure Protein Powder really helped me to get my protein in for the day with no additional carbs. The products are pretty pricey though. The powder is $25 for a one week supply. The beef jerky is delicious, but I think its about $17 for 10 or 12 sticks. And the bars are I think $15 for 6 bars. It's been a while, but I think that I am pretty close to what the prices are.
