Pros: very fast open wifi, strong cup of caffeine
Cons: crowded, dimly lit
I've been on a bit of a study spot hunt recently and I decided to give Crew a try because it's touted as a workspace. The space itself is huge but it's a bit of a victim of it's own success because it was extremely difficult to get a seat on a Sunday afternoon. I found the atmosphere to be a bit overbearing because of how dimly lit the space is. It's a beautiful place to sip on a coffee and do some work on a laptop but it's not as conducive to studying and reading text. I would also say the portions of their coffee and espresso drinks are on the small side yet their prices are pretty high. Not every seat has access to a charging port for a laptop either.
That being said, there are these "study carrel" style side rooms which are usually occupied that have better lighting.
Would come back for a quick chat with a friend visiting Montreal but probably not to work.
