I purchased a brand new washer and dryer from here. After a promising start and great customer service up front, I was thrilled that I found a new store to buy appliances from. I even purchased their service plan and warranty. Within 2 weeks, my brand new washer had recurrent issues and would stop washing. I called Spencers to address this. The first time, the technician didn't even take the time to really examine it and said the issue was because I was placing it on the "normal" wash cycle. The problem persisted and I called them again. He took a look at it again, and said it was fine and to call the manufacturer if there was an issue. This is the worst extended warranty service I have ever experienced. The ervice warranty is reason alone for me to avoid Spencers. Reading some of the review below, it seems like I'm not the only person who has experienced this.
I called Spencers and spoke with the store manager. I told him I was not happy with my washer and dryer. I told him that they could just give me store credit and I wanted to purchase a more expensive washer and dryer that was nearly double the cost of these units. They told me they do not accept returns of appliances under any circumstances. These units were 2 weeks old.
I will never buy another appliance, or recommend Spencers to anyone else. I should have purchased my units from Lowes or Home Depot because they do have a return policy. I chose Spencers because I wanted to give back to a local company and I liked their quick turnaround time in terms of delivering the appliances. I took my business elsewhere and bought a brand new washer and dryer (over $2K) from Home Depot. Think about it, they just lost a customer for life and would have still made money on me because I would have bought those units from them instead. They have televisions and other items I was considering buying from them, but not any longer.
