My name is Lisa Livingstone and I have supported local companies & local artists/artisans/designers- since 1990. I was referred to Paper & Home this past Holiday Season due to my designer changing her career-I used the same person for over 10 years in Las Vegas. Paper & Home told me I had unlimited options and design choices, they also used the word "couture" on their website. My first meeting in their conference room I stated my concern because I have been designing my Holiday Card for over 25 years. Kaide the assistant assured me I will be very well taken care of. I chose between an expensive paper and a lesser quality for the insert in the envelope. I chose the expensive quality and a darker hue and they would create the color in the flowers for our card to match the overall theme and expensive paper. (The flowers for our card was a image of a "Venetian Rug" found via internet- NOT a design creation by Paper & Home-they were not able to recreate this image).
I met with them on 2 occasions in the conference room and Kaide the assistant and I went back and forth numerous times via email and phone to ensure my design was executed.
When I picked up my Holiday cards-the lighting in their shop was not bright and I was in a rush due to the Holiday Season. I did mention to my son in the car they did not look right. When I returned home I realized they used the less expensive paper which was also a different hue and they created the flowers to match the less expensive paper for the insert in the envelope. I immediately called them and Kaide told me Brooke the owner made the decision that worked best for the design. I was quite upset that they did not call me and discuss their reasoning behind the change and charge me for the expensive paper? I also suggested they put another insert in the envelope to make it look and feel thicker. They stated I would have to pay an extra $900 and this would take 9 more weeks to execute what I was looking for in the design. Kaide spoke with Brooke and returned on the phone with an aggressive attitude- Brooke the owner did not pick up the phone with an apology or any other options to help their client that paid much money. ($1,676.79- for 100 Holiday Cards).
I submitted a complaint to my credit card company and Paper & Home came back with such lies. I did discuss with my credit card company I would pay $838.39 which was more than fair for this product. I did not want to deal with this any longer so my credit card company paid them and compensated me for being such a loyal client.
NOTE:
Yelp Clients - (The design for the flowers on the card was a image found via- internet of a "venetian rug"). I told Katie the assistant I wanted a floral pattern for my card and they were not able to create a floral pattern of this quality. Brooke stated they do not copy other people's images or design but went ahead and used the image of the flowers. Important- Paper & Home DID NOT design the flowers-
FYI- This is NOT about the design of the card but Paper & Home charging me for the expensive paper and creating my design with the less expensive paper for the same price without notifying me.
"They are Not "couture"
"I should have trusted my judgement when viewing their website for the first time."
"Paper & Home is also Not an honorable company"
