| - Service with a frown! The pastries here are delectable, but the girls who work here are not. Bathroom? Denied! WiFi password? Denied! Information about a bathroom somewhere in town? Denied (it was kinda like pulling teeth from an exasperated creature, unfortunately...)! These are common questions!
* By "denied," I mean "nonexistent"... but I also mean "denied."
There was some guy and his baby in the bakery "just looking" and the girl behind the counter seemed miffed that such excrement would be in her father's store and waste her precious time! How dare he just be looking! Who just looks?! Like... with their eyes?! Rather than asking the rest of us what WE would like, she turned away from the counter and began walking to the back (body language is important in the service industry). I shouted after her (semi-desperately, as I was extremely hungry that day due to parking taking us 3029350932805 hours and getting flipped off by half of Asia), "We're going to order something" and then asked what she liked in an attempt to get her to stay and lighten the mood. She kept walking away, but I kept engaging her with questions, so she had no choice but to shout or come back. So she came back and impatiently asked me what I was interested in and all was well :( I ended up getting a pumpkin thingy, which was really great. The crust was delicious and not too dense or hard. All in all, only interacted with her for a few seconds, but the few were enough to set the tone for my entire group and we pretty much laughed about how amateur it was and corroborated experiences as we walked down the street afterwards.
All in all, great food in a cute part of town. The seating and space are pretty tight, but at least once you're seated, you're out of view from the grumpy workers who prefer to, you know, not work and hang out away from customers.
