| - In the heart of classy Brookpark (sarcasm intended) and just minutes from my home is an oddly-placed premium furniture shop, Arhaus. I'm not sure this store was placed in the correct location to set its sights on the appropriate customer base. However, in my opinion Arhaus is a nice gem among the Brookpark stream of cheap furniture shops. As many others have pointed out, Arhaus doesn't really have anything that is cheap per say but it IS discounted from the original price (which is arguably astronomically elevated).
Much of what you will find here is very high quality, beautiful furniture which you would find in expensive homes. I could easily furnish my dream home from this one store. It is the kind of furniture I love to tell myself that I will buy... right before I remind myself that it won't fit in the back of my Kia. Unlike many others, I do feel that the furniture is priced fairly for the quality with the exception of the items that are damaged (which I believe should be cut down a bit more considering everything is a final sale). You could go down the street to Basista and find much lower quality pieces, often at higher prices than the discounts here.
I'll admit that I haven't actually purchased anything from this store but I've been close on many occasions. It is more of a place I go to pick out things I like than to actually buy... although when I finally have the funds, I will surely come and give them my business.
I do have a couple of major complaints with this store. First, the staff are just plain unfriendly (with the exception of one older lady who at least acknowledges everyone who walks by her). I'm guessing they don't work on commission because if they did they would have more incentive to wash off their pretentious prick attitudes.
My other major complaint is kind of the same as I have for most furniture stores: everything is crammed in so tightly that it's hard to get around. It isn't as big of a deal when I'm walking around on my own but today, with a wife, 3 kids and a stroller, the irritation I had from trying to surf the aisles was like repeatedly punching myself in the face.
Overall Arhaus is worth the visit even if you can't afford what they offer simply because there is plenty of beautiful stuff here. Keep in mind that this is an outlet store so look closely for damage before you purchase your dream couch as you won't be able to take it back!
