  • Spaks is a good spot if you're new to vegan and haven't figured out how food should taste. It's not bad by any means, but it's also not spectacular. The cheese never really melts all the way and they screw up the topping request most of the time. The seitan "wings" are tasty...but I would just call them seitan meat blobs, because that's what they are...tasty though. The philly cheesesteak with seitan is actually pretty damn good, BUT the seitan to bread ratio is absolutely pathetic...it definitely needs at least double the seitan to be able to be called a philly cheesesteak. I would rate it higher if it weren't for the staff. They basically never answer the phone, which requires going into Lawrenceville and standing in line to order. I've been there even when NO ONE was in there and they still basically refused to answer the phone as it rang. I'm definitely not cool enough for Lawrenceville, so it's always a god damned nightmare any time I have to head down there. Add more seitan to your cheesesteaks, upgrade the vegan cheese, and answer the phone... then this place would be killer.
