I brought my senior lab to VCA 2 years ago when she could barely walk. The vet where I had been taking her continued to prescribe medication that wasn't working. He also refused to take xrays because "they would only show that her hips were worse." The staff at VCA was excellent with scheduling and check-in. The doctor, with my consent, took xrays, blood and prescribed medication and food. I saw a vast improvement in my girl's mobility within a couple of days. Through excellent care and treatment of her condition, I had my girl another two years.
A week ago, the time had come to put her down. Sofia said they would fit me in when they were booked solid due to the urgency in my voice as to her condition. Dr. Martin and Kyle treated us with dignity and compassion. Stacy carried her in to the office as she couldn't walk. Despite the fact they had several emergencies that morning, they never rushed us before or after euthanasia. Tammy, the office manager, made certain that I had the proper cedar container for my girl's cremains. They have been wonderful throughout this time of sorrow. I have been taking my other dog there as well and trust them with her care. My thanks to all of them and I HIGHLY recommend VCA Northern Animal Hospital.
