We loved the container park for a day trip with the little one. There is so much to love about this place, here is what stood out for us:
- Recycled shipping containers made into a classy outdoor shopping center and play ground. What's not to love about recycling?
- The playground had water-misters to keep you cooled down. Both myself and my toddler loved the misting!
- The playground is very secure- both with security guards and it is fenced in. This is a wonderful feature for the safety of my little ones who love to run off. The added security of the nice guard was also nice for a downtown park, and she made sure that my toddler didn't escape out the gate when he tried to, while my pregnant self was running after him.
- Lots of creative play, not just structures- legos, foam blocks, chalk board, etc
- This may sound silly, but I loved that there are compost bins built into the trash/recycling bins. And they tell you what goes into what if you don't already know.
I would love to check out the adults-only events after 9pm when the park is 21+. But that will have to wait until baby-in-the-belly arrives and I can have a night out with the hubby.
Only downside- parking. There should be better and free parking for the container park. All in all, we will return!
