Hello,
I am writing this on the basis of two experiences with this hotel. Please see below for a SUBJECTIVE review:
1. Appearance and first impression: Exterior under construction. Interior dark. Very cold and business oriented staff. Exterior completely boarded. Location very central; on King subway stop. NB: Lobby was inundated with artificial scent.
2. Room: Room without view. Contemporary. Usual appliances plus dishwasher still warm from last use (? time). BATHROOM: Hair on tub and toilet; extremely basic. Climate control VERY loud, needed to shut it off as it prevented sleep. Sheets appeared clean; however, on closer inspection, hair was found prior to my sleeping there. TV PROGRAMMING: The stated programming under the INFO section did NOT coincide with what was actually playing during the stated time; this occurred on 2 channels. No minibar selection.
3. Environment: In middle of night, was awoken by screaming 2 screaming females. They were instructed by another guest to maintain proper silence. They did not abide.
4. Dining: N/A as I did not eat here.
Overall SUBJECTIVE conclusion:
I have spent much time abroad in a variety of conditions with respect to living and accommodation, as I am certain many others have. My experiences have ranged from hostels to desktops to airport floors to 5 star hotels. I can state with confidence that on the basis of my experiences that this was the most challenging and restless evening I have ever spent in my lifetime. I would like to say that extenuating circumstances prevailed and I maintained as much objectivity in my assessment as I could. I believe this hotel is an example of humanity at its finest: they have taken a wonderful piece of architecture in a very central location and have yet to make the best of it.
Therefore, I would encourage those who are considering choosing this location as a place to rest to research and weigh their options with considerable care. I can say that I regret my decision to stay here.
Thank-you for your consideration.
