I went to Pep Boys for the first time this weekend. I made an appointment online on Friday for Saturday. Saturday, when I showed up they informed me that they wouldn't be able to get to my car. They called the mechanic who took the appointment and he informed me that he'd be more than happy to honor his appointment, they were just busy. I purchased two tires and I actually ended up needing 4. I bought 4 and they were actually the upgrade to the original ones I intended on purchasing. Plus, they gave a mail in rebate (which can be done online) for one of the tires so I actually will end up paying for 3 tires. The prices of the tires were in line with information online regarding tire prices and performance. They even knew to do an alignment since I got new tires. You never want to put on new tires without an alignment. DJ at the service desk was super friendly and offered a rewards card with my receipt. I don't think that there was anything special about this visit but I do like that this place is open on weekends as I work Monday-Friday 9-5 like most professional, working adults. It's hard to leave my car during the week but I have no problem leaving it there for a few hours or even overnight on the weekends. I will certainly visit them again as I feel that their mechanics are very honest and friendly. That, along with their customer service reps, like DJ, being friendly and efficient as well. They did not try to tack on extra charges as I know my car well and I knew exactly what it needed. Since I added an inspection, I knew I'd have to get 4 tires for an inspection instead of 2. Nothing else was wrong with my car nor did they try to imply that there was to get more money.
