Deep tissue massage? More like a back alley beat-down!
Now don't get me wrong. I wasn't expecting a frou-frou luxury experience by any means. I've been to many foot spas and have traversed through both good and bad, possibly even unlicensed and unqualified masseuses. That's the nature of foot spas -- it's a gamble, but at only a cheap $20-30, it's a risk worth taking for the prospect of an hour of relaxation. Unfortunately, the massage that me and my plus one encountered was quite rough.
Deep tissue here means lots of elbows. And force. And pounding. They will attempt to up-sell you on the deep tissue option, making it sound like an upgrade, but it will actually leave you in more pain than you started with.
I'm leaving two stars instead of one because we did get the semi-private room and our female masseuses didn't really chat much with each other as they tend to do at other places. Despite the bad massages, we still both tipped 40%, but the ladies didn't even say thank you. Overall, bad experience, but maybe yours will be different. We won't be back.
