  • I took my cat here because the facility was recommended by the clinic who gives my other fur babies their annual shots, and I needed somewhere with emergency hours. Back in June, they weren't really sure what was wrong with my cat definitely, but decided to give her a two week antibiotic based on a urinalysis that was taken from a dirty table that I paid full for - $300 for guess work. Her condition came back two months later, so I stressed the importance that I'm bringing my cat in to be checked correctly and to have the right steps taken so that I wouldn't have to keep throwing away hundreds of dollars for assumptions. They decided to do a urinalysis and an ultrasound to see if they could identify any crystals instead of an x-ray, but didn't make it that far. Unfortunately my cat had urinated on the vet, but they did an ultrasound...to see if there was enough urine left to sample...which is what I didn't agree to pay for - I agreed to pay for it used on other reasons. When they brought my cat back in, she was hanging on the tech's arm, the rest of her body dangling, and I had to pay for the ultrasound and the exam (wasn't much of an exam either) - then I was sent home with a cup and told to collect the urine myself and bring it in for them to do another urinalysis to put into separate petri dishes to see which antibiotic would work best (why wasn't this done the first time???). Very unhappy with the service, and the wait. Very unhappy with all the unnecessary charges and all the guesswork. Vet bills aren't cheap, everyone knows taking care of a pet is expensive, so it's imperative that you work with us appropriately and show a bit more care in handling the pets in order to find a solution that works. I will be bringing my cat to another facility recommended by friends who said they have heard poor reviews of Scottsdale Veterinary Clinic with the same service issues and extraordinary charges. In regards to my most recent response: Scottsdale Veterinary Clinic - It seems you have reconfirmed everything I have already mentioned. As far as the ultrasound goes, the tech told me that she used it to see if there was enough bladder left, not that they had checked for the stones and had found none. So again, that is why I mentioned my frustration with that, thank you. You did follow up with me in June and I did report that she was doing fine, again, that is not the issue. The issue is that the urinalysis should have been completed as you had proposed during my most recent visit - that it would be split up between different petri dishes and that the best antiobiotic would be administered that took well - not just guess work on a two week antibiotic. Again, my frustration lies in the way everything was executed. Pets are not cheap when they become sick, so it's important that the vet does their best in making sure that the best steps are done during the initial visit. You have not received a urine cup back from me because, A). my experiences were enough for me to never return or recommend. B). I took her to a different vet that was referred who amazingly gave me so much helpful information in regards to Kali, was able to quickly rule out any bacteria, crystals, or stones, and offered me great at home care for Kali's health in the future if needed. They were more affordable, only by a margin, and again that is not the issue. What I expect, is what I received at my most recent visit at another vet - genuine concern, a plethora of knowledge, and great care with my pet. I'm sorry that your facility is not the facility for me or my pet family.
