| - So, before the other day I had not been to a Fantastic Sams in *literally* about 15 years. FS was my mom's place of choice to get haircuts growing up and while I've had some OK haircuts from FS stylists during the period I was going against my will, I also had some nightmare haircuts(we are talking uneven, too short, WTF is this shizz?).
For the better part of the last decade I`ve gone to high end salons and paid a lot of money for haircuts and color which usually turns out the way I envision and sometimes not so much, so why am I going to pay $50+ just for a hair trim? I really just needed a trim, but even that word strikes fear in the heart of someone like me who has told stylists in the past to "just cut off half an inch" and I end up missing half my hair. If you're trying to grow your hair out and you've had this happen, you know the struggle. I don`t have to tell you.
After searching for Fantastic Sams locations in the area, I came across this one and read every review. I saw the name Chassity come up a couple of times and decided I could maybe trust her with just cutting 1/2 inch off the ends of my hair. Don`t get me wrong, I was still nervous, but I decided to give it a shot. I drove my ass over to Summerlin and made myself get out of the car and go into this Fantastic Sams. I was greeted by one lady of many. The shop was full. I signed in and waited to be summoned *queue the dramatics and heart racing anticipation*.
Chassity called me and I instantly felt a good vibe from her. She is very approachable and personable. I let her know about what I wanted to do with my mane and what my fears were about getting too much chopped off. She totally sympathized with me and assured me that she would only cut off the amount I wanted. She even turned me to the side and showed me how much she would cut and asked if that was okay. Yes!
I had washed my hair the night before so I wasn't concerned about getting the shampoo and conditioner. She let me know it would be easier to do the ends if she just spritzed, instead of having them fully water soaked. That was totally okay with me because it was cold outside. In the end, it took her all of 15 minutes to thoughtfully and accurately cut the ends of my hair, resulting in even, fresh ends that I am very happy with. She blew out my hair with a brush and dryer and it looked great the rest of the day.
I`m not sure my opinion of Fantastic Sams' overall has changed, but I think this one is lucky to have Chassity. Definitely recommend her.
