| - First off. I was absolutely confused by this place. I live near by... and all i can say is they had me at "all you can eat" as most places do... so not knowing what 'hot pot' actually was, i made my way in.
They have A TON (50... 60, maybe?) of options for you to cook at your table shabu style, and yes, as the name implies, you can keep going back for more. Veggies, starches, seafood, any kind of meat you want, desserts, etc.
My only gripe was that the waiter didn't really explain what Shabu was or how to do it (maybe they don't get many newbies?) so i found myself weirdly staring down other customers to find out what the heck to do. In a nutshell, you add your ingredients to a hotpot broth on your table stove, adjust heat and wait... making sure you time things right (mushrooms are different than beef is different than shrimp) to eat it all at the same time at the correct done-ness.
Also, no alcohol. That was kind of a bummer. But it speaks volumes that i still enjoyed the meal in the absence of that. My advice: go with a pro your first time, or don't be afraid to ask questions unless you want to be the creepy staring guy like me.
All in all i enjoyed my meal here, fresh ingredients and you really create your own experience since there's so many options. Fun place to bring a group too.
