Where do I begin.......Krist how do you find these unique restaurants? A hidden gem that is for sure.
A big thank you to Ricki the owner. Your passion and love for good food is evident in your informative description and presentation of each course.
When we arrived an offering from Ricki of a cocktail of Prosecco and lychee juice or a virgin variation. He was genuinely excited to have Yelp and the Elite group at his new restaurant. Another thank you goes to Muskoka Brewery for their beer pairings with each course. My two favourites where the Summerweiss Tropical Docker and the Gin n' tonic - Madtoms's beer.
I was in food heaven with the 5 courses presented to us. Each course had my senses piqued from sight to taste I was not disappointed.
We started off with Seared Tuna Rice Toast - 2 bites had my taste buds wanting more.
Pork Jowl Skewers were a favourite - delicious!
Prawn Toast with the house curry cilantro, nuoc cham sauce. - yummy!
Fried Chicken Mantou Sandwich was delicious with the spicy kimichi mayo - nice kick to that first bite.
Last was the truffle fried rice with Quail egg. Not a fan of the egg but I did enjoy the rice.
I left the restaurant feeling sated, but this morning I woke up craving more. Now that is a good sign of good food.
The restaurant is small and cozy so make sure to call ahead so as not to be disappointed. There is a patio on either side of the restaurant, and lots of parking. Staff were friendly and knowledgeable.
In closing I have to say I love how Kris had the tables set with our name tags. I got to meet two very interesting ladies which made the evening for my husband and I very enjoyable.
Definitely going back to try more of Ricki's cuisine. Thanks again for a great well organized Yelp event.
