My husband picked me up for lunch today and decided we try Thee Pitt's as we'd seen it on Triple D as well. Based on the reviews I expected it to be so-so but it was better than I thought it would be.
Monday at 11:30am and the place was empty. By the time we left at 12:15 there were still only two more groups that came in.
We tried the pickle appetizer and it was good- not amazing but not overly greasy, really. The batter was a good flavor but there are only so many fried pickles you can eat.
Hubby got the BBQ chicken with Mac and cheese (it's Kraft and they have that disclaimer right on the menu). He loved both and said it's his new favorite place.
I had the "lighter side" menu of pork ribs (4) with grilled veggies and cornbread. The flavor of the ribs was very good - not too much sauce at all. Moist and tender and really tasty overall. The veggies were nicely done and presented on a skewer. The cornbread was fantastic though and the honey butter was amazing.
We probably waited 15 minutes for the food which I was fine with and our waitress was very sweet and attentive - which she should have been since we were her only customers.
Quirky vibe which I guess is their "schtick".
I'd go back to try some other items.
