  • My husband and I ventured to Aria to try out their restaurant week menu. This was the second time we had visited Aria and after a great first experience there, we were excited to try it again. Unfortunately, the whole experience fell flat. For starters, the service was mediocre at best. The hubby and I are pretty easy to please when it comes to service (and my other reviews attest to this) but it was pretty terrible on this particular evening. Our waiter seemed friendly enough at first (I can't remember his name, unfortunately) but it quickly became clear that he wasn't interested in serving us because of our age. We've had this happen a few times but it never gets old. Yes, my husband and I are in our mid- to late twenties but that does not mean that we aren't there to spend some money on a nice dinner. We are also great tippers if we are treated properly. The waiter was snippy with us and rarely checked on us. Our waters sat empty and I had to flag him down to ask for another drink (which took 20 minutes to come out and then wasn't made properly). The food was also just mediocre. The chicken cacciatore was dry and lacking in the olives and mushrooms it was supposed to come with. All of our food just left us saying "meh." We also had to gobble down our dessert as it took absolutely forever for them to come out for some reason and we were in a hurry to get to a show at Blumenthal (and yet, the older couple seated next to us received their drinks and dinner/dessert courses in a much more timely fashion...interesting). Needless to say, we won't be returning to Aria and we will recommend our friends stay away from it, as well. We will go to places that treat us well regardless of our age. P.S. Aria, If I'm at a fine dining establishment don't insult me by carding me when I order a drink. I'm 28 years old and if I'm ordering a glass of wine or a particular cocktail, I think I know what I'm talking about.
